Portrait de Baleines

Portrait de Baleines (published in French only) is a weekly 4-page newsletter produced and distributed by GREMM during the summer months. Made possible by the contributions of numerous partners and a seasoned editorial team, this newsletter is primarily intended for captains and naturalists working on or near the St. Lawrence.

This project was first published in 2001 to facilitate exchanges between scientists and teams working with the public in the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park. Over the years, Portrait de Baleines has evolved its style, format, and team, all while expanding its readership, but the goal of the publication has remained the same: to inform and educate members of the whale-watching industry through brief, educational, and entertaining articles to encourage the adoption of environmentally friendly practices.

The weekly newsletters also aim to provide the latest information to members of the whale-watching industry so they can pass it on to their clientele throughout the season.
